Hot drinks – I really can’t help myself with these. Anything from a hot cup of cacao, to a soy latte, or a warming herbal brew. My favourites at the moment are Loving Earth hot chocolate, Pukkah Vitality blend and Higher Living Cinnamon blend. Yum, yum, yum. Cinnamon and ginger are particularly great in winter, as they increase your circulation and really warm you up. Another great one for this time of year is some fresh lemon, a slice of ginger and a spoon of manuka honey. Immune boosting and throat soothing goodness right there!
Journalling – I had a huge hiatus from journal writing the past 6 years or so, (must have been all those uni assignments I had to write instead) but now I’ve welcomed a new journal into my life. Writing out thoughts is truly therapeutic, and I’ve found it quite relaxing too. A good way to wind down after a big day, or a nice way to start the day and set positive intentions. I’m in love with Kiki K stationery too, thankyou for my cute new journal!
There's just something about having your own garden, and using fresh produce straight from it. The fresh zing of winter is so invigorating, and the green goodness of kale, silverbeet and spinach gets me every time! I dug over the garden beds and my mum planted most of the veggies in there for me. Made with love :)
I've been making lots of fresh green juices and smoothies with these babies.
Baking - How good is home baking!! It's cold outside, the oven is on, and the place smells divine. Yum! Here is a picture of home baked Quinoa banana bread that I mentioned before, from Lola Berry's new cookbook:
How amazing does that look! I always have trouble trying not to burn my fingers when fresh baked goods come out of the oven. Need I say anymore about baking, really..
Family excursions – scarf and jacket included. Bren and I went to Maldon recently and had lunch in a cute little café, then checked out some shops. It was freezing, fun and freedom enducing.
A few books I've been digging lately:
The Afterlife of Billy Fingers
The Power or Now
The Liquid Mirror
I must confess to being a serious book worm. It's like a holiday for your soul when you go on a good book journey. What are your favourite reads at the moment?
This love list could go on, and on, and on, but I'll save some for another rainy day :)
Have a fabulous weekend,
