I've just come back from a rejuvenating trip to Vanuatu with my husband and best friend Brendan :) We went for 5 days of pure relaxation. Our days consisted of lazy sleep ins, breakfasts by the pool in our resort, swims, reading books in the sun, having massages, enjoying some cocktails, afternoon naps, ferry rides to Port Villa, market hopping and generally just chilling. We both came home feeling really relaxed, and it's highlighted for me the utmost importance of taking time out from the hustle and bustle of every day life!
It's also made me realise how important it is to create these quiet moments of stillness in our daily lives. It's definitely going to be a focus for me now, creating this calming stillness and sense of relaxation. Meditations, walks in nature, writing in my journal all do this for me.
This brings me to my first Love for August:
Sitting quiet and being simply grateful for what I have in my life, where I am, my inspirations is so powerful and mood lifting. It's definitely at the top of the love list.
My goodness do I love the Ocean. It's such a big, powerful force of inspiration, love, freedom and joy for me. I've always felt at home when I visit the ocean, smell its saltiness and hear waves lapping at rocks or the beach. It's presence is instantly calming and puts life into perspective.
I'm a Leo, so I had an August Birthday recently. Brendan gave me this gorgeous Daisy Chakra bracelet. It's represents the solar plexus chakra, which looks after life direction, vitality and self esteem. The jewellery serves as a reminder to live life energetically, physically and spiritually, and depending on which chakra you get, they come with affirmations you can use when the mood strikes. My affirmations are: I honour the power within me, and The fire within me burns through my fears.
Cacao is heaven. Chocolate in its raw form, naturally rich in magnesium and nutrients. It's a great nervous system food, muscle relaxant, PMS deterrent AND it tastes sensational. I can't find anything not to love about it. Chocolate that's good for you, I mean really! Jump on the Cacao band wagon today!!
The picture is a Raw Cacao tart that I made with a hazelnut and coconut oil crust. on top are raw cacao nibs. You can find the recipe in the WholePantry app in the apple store, which by the way, is freaking AMAZING too! Click on the link and you shall see magic :)
Much love to you all :)
