Friday was lovely. I felt even more clear in my head, no brain fog or afternoon energy slumps. My energy still wasn't 100%, but much better. I was sooooo hungry though. Incredibly. So for dinner I gave my body some salmon, quinoa and broccoli with lemon juice and savoury yeast flakes. It was delicious, and I was so satisfied. It's nice to be clear and able to hear what your body needs. The cleanse was animal product free, but I prefer to listen to what my body needs rather than stick to something that won't serve me at that time. I went to a 30th that night and wasn't even tempted by any of the treats or cake. Impressive, usually I'd be in there sampling a bit of this and a bit of that. I really enjoyed the feeling of being satisfied with what I'd already eaten, and doing what I know is best for my body.
The weekend - Saturday and Sunday. These were my best days on the cleanse. I had a lot more energy, was clear headed, felt happy and was really just enjoying myself. The light is here :) hehe. The cleanse was worth it for these feelings. What I enjoyed the most was the feeling of release, and realising that I didn't even crave to have a coffee, but when I did feel like one it was due to emotional reasons. That happened a couple of times, and I gave myself a big hug instead. Much better :)
The food was yum, I thoroughly enjoyed having lots of veggies and juices. Usually we do, but I had let home made muffins and sweet treats creep into my diet quite a bit before I did the cleanse. This resulted in sugar cravings too! Instead of those foods I was having apples with nut butter, chia puddings, veggies with hommus etc. for snacks. My sugar cravings disappeared after the first 2 days. Sweet!!!
So that was my bodies short spring clean in a nut shell. This week I'm looking forward to having some meat, some oats & maybe a cup of tea or two. I've decided that I'm going to continue not having coffee, because I want to break that emotional link and I also know that it really affects me physically (as it does all of us). I've also made a conscious choice to continue keeping my snacks vegetable based as much as I can. Hello kale chips! There are a number of cleanse recipes I am excited to try, so I'll introduce those this week and keep up the nourishment.
Are any of you doing a spring cleanse at the moment, or thinking about doing one? I'd love to hear how you're going and what you're planning. Hears to good health, clear minds and happy hearts :)
